Ah, hello again. What's happening in the weird and wonderful world of Jer? Well I've been in London for the last few days, teaching Windows to Microsoft people. Interesting course, ah well. Last weekend was fairly stressful - a big family occasion, so I went to dinner on Saturday night with them, a lovely Malaysian restaurant. Sunday afternoon/evening was spent with them too, and it was very nice.
However, I got a margin call on the OU stuff. My pacing and pseudo-procrastination finally did me in - Thursday last I got an announcement about my outstanding papers, that the deadline was Monday. And I was hoping to finish them over here in the hotel when I'd nothing better to do except read the course material or watch CNN.
So thursday/friday/saturday/sunday were mostly attempts to get papers done, I only got a few done (too much stress and distractions and not enough motivation). After the party on Sunday I left early, about 11pm. I hadn't been drinking anything stronger than Red Bull, so I was on fine form for working. And work I did. Until 5am. Got quite a few more done. Woke up at 8.30am monday morning, hazy and disoriented, started work at 10, and through one thing or another it took until about 8pm to get them all done and submitted. Finally.
So then I ironed and packed, got to bed at 1:30am, and had to get up at 5 for my flight at 6:45am. Tuesday was NOT a good day for me.
Oh, my next batch of music gear has shipped. I'm looking forward to getting that, although I was hoping it'd arrive before tomorrow night (my next gig). But no, that's not to be. So next week I should be up all night several nights playing my new fun stuff. Yay!
